Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant

Our expanding Garden Centre business is seeking a Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant to assist our experienced Marketing Manager. This full-time role is based at our Newton Abbot garden centre and will involve travel to our other garden centres around the South West.

We're looking for a creative and business-minded individual to join our Marketing team and play a key role in delivering our annual marketing campaign. This full-time position focuses on designing and producing impactful point of sale materials, managing product photos and information, and supporting our marketing manager in promoting our business both in-store and online.

This position has excellent development opportunities and progression routes for a candidate who is willing to learn our business and help our company with its continued growth. This role will best suit an individual who can take initiative and has a talent and skill in graphic design / marketing.

The successful candidate will be an experienced graphic designer with a strong understanding of commercial retail environments. They must be digitally minded, highly IT literate, and confident in learning and adapting to new software tools and systems.

The main roles would be:

• Website content updating, managing and developing
• Production of website graphics
• Produce our weekly Garden Centre Point of Sale / Signage
• Managing the installation of POS at all centres
• Catalogue artwork and design for garden plants, horticultural dry goods and Christmas products
• Produce video and social media graphics
• Manage Company social media platforms alongside our advertising campaign
• EPOS updating including the uploading of descriptions and images
• Other marketing projects to promote the business
• Other duties as required to help run the business as one of the key members of our head office team

The role would suit applicants who want to be fully committed to the company and can actively impact the success of the business as part of our larger management team. This is a full time position working alongside our experienced department head.

This position is mainly located at our Newton Abbot site just outside of town. There is no ability to work from home.

Skills required for this position:

• Must be an experienced user of the Adobe Creative Suite Package
• Must have demonstratable experience of creativity & design flair
• Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office
• Must have a good understanding of IT software and programmes
• Preferable: Knowledge of Website Development / Wordpress
• Great knowledge and experience of Marketing and Social Media advertising
• Ability to be flexible on work duties to aid the running of the business
• Good levels of English – both spoken and written

Details of this role:

• 35+ hours per week
• Holiday is pro rata based on days worked – approx. 28 days
• The role will be supported by full on-site training by our office managers and marketing manager
• We can offer between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on your experience and suitability.
