An exciting opportunity to work in an ambitious and high performing Public Affairs team within Marie Curie.
**Title**:Public Affairs Officer
**Salary**:£25,600 to £28,444 (dependent on experience) pro rata, per annum + £3,500 London weighting if applicable
**Hours/Contract**:35 hours per week, Full time, 1 year fixed term contract
**Based**:London/home-based (with some travel within UK required)

The Public Affairs Officer will work closely with the National Public Affairs Manager and Local Public Affairs Manager to develop relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants and stakeholders in devolved contexts, working with them to improve the end of life experience for everyone across the UK.

**What we are looking for**:
- A passion for public affairs, social justice, and challenging inequalities in care and end of life experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills, for both managing workload and event planning.
The Public Affairs Officer will deliver our work to engage and influence political decision makers at all levels in the UK. The post holder will support the delivery of internal public affairs projects, initiatives and campaigns and also respond to external public affairs opportunities in order to improve end of life experience for everyone with a terminal illness.
The role will work to develop relationships with MPs, Peers, civil servants, other charities and local/devolved decisionmakers, and to support and encourage them to improve end of life experience for everyone.
