**Platform Engineer - Leeds - Permanent**

I am working exclusively with a Digital Insurance client based in the Leeds area. They are currently looking to expand their team further a are currently looking to recruit a Platform Engineer. The role of Platform Engineer is to maintain the core systemand networks to ensure they run smoothly for colleagues and clients. An element of the role includes out of hours support should the need arise.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Maintaining the internal office IT infrastructure including Wi-Fi, routers, firewalls, VPN.
- Setup, repair and maintenance of internal user's hardware including laptops.
- Setup, manage and maintenance of user's installation software and software assets, e.g., software license management, configure and distribute software updates via Intune.
- Manage and provide access to company shared services, such as Office365, GitHub, Atlassian etc.
- Monitor and operate CD/CI process
- Monitor and maintain company digital assets, such as domains, certificates, keys.
- Proactive monitoring of existing infrastructure and services, including periodic policy reviews, system updates, patching, security hardening.
- Architect, deploy and maintain core platform as well internal infrastructure.
- Maintaining regular system backups, plus performing periodic DR testing.
- Automating infrastructure management with Terraform and Ansible (IaC/CaC), also Bash/Python scripting where necessary.
- Managing SIEM security framework, incidents, alerts, actions and technical ISO27001 compliance.

**Skills and experience required**:

- Experience with different Operating systems (Win10, macOS, Windows Server Edition, Linux distros) and software.
- Solid knowledge of a cloud platform and services (AWS).
- Strong Linux skills.
- Strong scripting with either BASH or Python.
- CD/CI experience (Jenkins/Teamcity/CodeBuild).
- IaC and CaC experience (Terraform, Ansible)
- AWS certified
- Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS)
- Basic knowledge and experience with Web stack LAMP/LEMP.
- Good knowledge of encryption, SSL/TLS, GPG, secure connections.
- Experience with backups, snapshots, disaster recovery solutions.
- Good understanding of networking, e.g., routing, subnets, protocols, ports, services, VPN, firewalls, routers.
- Experience with SIEM framework, following best security practice and ISO27001 norms.
- Monitoring infrastructure availability, performance, uptime.
- Excellent communication skills
