Principle Platform Engineer

Asda Technology are building out an entirely new cloud platform to support its separation from Walmart as part of the ‘Future' programme.

Future is the name for the programme that will see Asda create their new operating model, independent from Walmart.Asda are undertaking an unparalleled exercise to build a new IT operating environment. This is a fantastic opportunity which is a one ina lifetime opportunity shape the way the entire business will operate. Cloud technologies are at the very heart of this.

**As a Principle Platform Engineer your Role and responsibilities i nclude**:

- The Cloud platform roadmap, its prioritisation and fulfilling customer demand.
- To work within a greenfield cloud platform at significant scale, as part of the newly established Asda Cloud Platform team.
- To work closely within our cloud community of excellence.
- To determine the cloud capabilities required by the Asda business.
- To prioritise delivery and work with a team of Cloud Architects and Engineers to continuously improve cloud services.

**About you**
- Very strong technical cloud knowledge gained in the design, development, and operation of cloud platforms within Microsoft Azure.
- Interest in emerging cloud technologies and processes, with a desire to continually develop technology platforms and yourself
- Experienced working within Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, developing and optimising processes. Jira expertise would be advantageous
- Great interpersonal and customer management skills, you'll be able to understand customer needs and improve the cloud platform to meet these
- Previous product management experience; backlog management, tech investment, resource requirements and product roadmap
- Excellent written skills, with an ability to create formal documents and processes to support the use of Asda's cloud platform
