Responsible for providing essential technology to 10,000 healthcare organisations across all major UK health sectors, we are looking for a **Platform Engineer Team Leader**to join our innovative hosted services department.

Working remotely you will lead a team of Platform Engineers that are responsible for the stability, security and availability of our Hosted infrastructure which includes; installation, decommissioning, configuration and supporting our software tech stack.As a Platform Engineer Team Leader you will manage tasks assigned from the Hosted Platforms Team Manager and be accountable for the incidents, requests and Major Incidents either directly or by the Platforms team resource.

Collaboration is key at EMIS, as Platform Engineer Team Leader you will support the production of Platforms environment and work with internal stakeholders to deliver projects within the hosted infrastructure.

**What you’ll do**

As Platform Team Leader, your key duties will include:

- Management of the Platform Engineer team - including management duties of resourcing, planning team tasks and upskilling the team.
- Provide support for a stable and highly available production platforms within & across our data centres.
- Providing technical resource in the event of a major incident or incident investigation.
- Ensuring existing platforms solutions are patched to current/suitable security levels.
- Monitor, measure, maintain and improve platforms performance.

**Who you’ll be**

We want to make sure you’re set for success so the key skills we’re looking for in the role are below. We know not everyone ticks all the boxes and we’ll provide training on some of the areas if you’re the right person for the role.
- Previous experience in a similar team leader role or senior platforms position where you have mentored/managed a team.
- Significant knowledge in supporting the platforms in a complex hosted experience.
- Previous experience in virtualisation & clustering technologies (Hyper-V & VMWare)
- Be able to demonstrate a solution-focussed mindset with experience in Platforms project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience with cloud technology (AWS / Azure) would be advantageous.
