**Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer £45-£60K - Pension - 23 days leave + Annual Bonus + Autonomy**

Due to growth, we are looking for an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer to work alongside the founding partner and help grow their company, an excellent opportunity for real career progression.

This role will appeal to someone who wants the autonomy to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, and use their own initiative to drive projects forward.

This is a great chance to join the team and be involved in a diverse range of projects over a growing client base. Their current secured projects span the education, commercial refurb/new build, and renewable technology sectors.

The founder of this new and exciting consultancy has worked in the industry for over 20 years as a building services design engineer for one of the world's leading engineering and design consultancies employing circa 20,000 staff. Their ethos is to use thelatest technologies and smart ways of working whilst maintaining a personal consultancy experience.

This is a client-facing role, and you will be involved in the day-to-day design of projects. You will get the opportunity to work directly with the client to deliver projects whilst being supported by the founding director.

Their key focus is on developing their staff to realise their full potential and this role will allow you to develop your existing technical skills as well developing your digital design, and project management skills

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaising directly with clients and developing the project brief.
- Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems - heating, cooling, ventilation, controls and Hot and cold water services.
- Produce detailed calculations using Excel, IES, Hevacomp or our in-house developed tools.
- Preparing drawings to be drafted by the BIM/CAD team.
- Representing the client at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Undertake site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
- Managing own workload, assist with resource planning.
- Reviewing project progress and updating line manager with anomalies and changes of scope of works.
- Assist with mentoring junior staff.

**Requirements**:

- Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical engineering or Environmental and Architectural Engineering.
- Familiar with Hevacomp, NBS and Microsoft packages.
- Experience working in a design consultancy or design and build contractor.
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential.
