**Intermediate Mechanical Estimator**

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator with a minimum of 4 years experience within the Building Services sector to join an established and highly respected M&E Building Services contractor based in Dartford.

With a passion and expertise in providing Mechanical and Electrical services from Design through to Installation and Commissioning, our client work across various sectors, including Banking, Education, Student Accommodation, Retail and Leisure, and Commercial fit-out, with typical project values ranging from £500k up to £5m.

**Intermediate Mechanical Estimator**

**Key Activities include**:

- Tender pricing - respond to tender queries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and quotations in accordance with the clients' requirements
- Job costing - calculate the price of time, labour and materials for bespoke contracts
- Managing and assisting with the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires for tenders
- Negotiation of effective cost settlements for projects
- Analysis of contract documentation and preparation of accurate sub-contractor packages for pricing, liaising and negotiating with sub-contractors and key suppliers
- Meet with clients as necessary to clarify design requirements and explain basis of estimates to ensure bid proposals meet needs
- Prioritise, manage own workflow and maintain accurate record of tenders submitted
- Arrange sub-contractor enquiry documents to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of estimate
- Determine contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
- Working alongside Senior Estimators and reporting into the Estimating Director

**Essential Skills**:

- Minimum 4 years' experience as a Mechanical Estimator
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Effective communication both verbal and written
- Efficient, flexible, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task as working on several projects at a time
- Ability to work to targets and goals within set guidelines and parameters

**Remuneration Package - Intermediate Mechanical Estimator**:

- Base salary: £50k - £60k depending on experience
