**Job Title: Data Specialist**
**Location**: Altrincham, WA15 8AB
**Workplace Type**: Hybrid: 4 days per week in the office
**Salary**: £40,000 per annum pro rata (DoE)
This role is for an individual who understands the importance of data for client acquisition and retention. They will provide all-round first-class support to the wider business.
The Data Specialist is responsible for managing and optimising data-related processes, overseeing data provision for prospecting and analysis. Generating reports to support informed decision-making and business strategies. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure data integrity, quality, and timely reporting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Data segmentation**:
- Develop and implement data segmentation strategies to enhance targeted marketing efforts.
- Analyse customer data to identify segmentation opportunities and optimise marketing campaigns.
- Support CRM campaign operations across various channels, ensuring consistency, quality and correct logic applied across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure segmented data aligns with campaign objectives.
**Data Management**:
- Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of organisational data.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Develop and enforce data management policies and procedures. Conduct regular data audits to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies and duplicates. Implement data cleansing and enrichment processes to improve data accuracy and completeness. Monitor data health and proactively address data quality issues.
**Data Analysis**:
- Use statistical and data visualisation tools to create meaningful reports and dashboards.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support business objectives.
**Team Leadership**:
- Manage and mentor a team of data cleansers.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and data-driven culture within the organisation.
**Data Quality and Governance**:
- Establish and maintain data quality standards.
- Implement data governance practices to ensure data consistency and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and resolve data quality issues.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Collaborate with marketing, sales and tech teams to understand data requirements. Optimise data processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather data-related requirements and provide updates on data operations initiatives.
- Support the marketing team and analyst with data required to measure campaign performance.
- Provide training and support to team members on data-related tools and processes
**Technology and Tools**:
- Evaluate and select appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Implement and maintain data-related software and systems.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs.
- Communicate insights and findings to key stakeholders.
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Identify opportunities to enhance data and reporting processes.
- Implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay current with data-related trends and technologies.
**Desirable Technical Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Business).
- Proven experience in data management, analysis and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Mongo Db, data visualisation tools).
- Knowledge of data governance and quality practices.
- 3+ years of previous experience in a similar hands-on role managing data and building audiences for marketing purposes
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools
- Experience with marketing platforms such as ESP, CRM, CDP and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
**Essential Skills**:
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and analysis
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Problem solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot data-related issues
- Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively
