**Description**

**PLEASE NOTE THE ROLE IS TEMPORARY FOR AN IMMEDIATE START.**

Reporting to the HR Manager, the post holder will ensure the provision of professional customer-focused HR advice, coaching and solutions that support the business in the identification and management of workforce issues and change programmes.
The HR Advisor will deliver a comprehensive, professional and high quality HR service to their nominated divisions/corporate area.

The key responsibilities for the NHS HR Advisor Band 5 role are:

- Provide effective advice and support in a timely and proactive manner to managers
- Promote a positive, proactive approach in the Trust, acting as an advocate for an open, fair and transparent employment relations environment
- Advise managers in all aspects of employee relations including bullying and harassment, conduct, Performance Management, grievance, disciplinary and sickness absence
- Provide advice and support to line managers in the preparation of Investigative/summary reports for internal hearings and other complex correspondence with employees of the Trust

**Skills**:

- Member of CIPD or working toward
- Current knowledge of employment legislation, case law and good HR practice
- An understanding of NHS workforce strategy and NHS policy
- Leadership - fostering powerful and productive working relationships internally and externally
- Able to influence and negotiate and persuade regarding complex or sensitive issues
- Able to deliver messages effectively at all levels and to make an impact at all levels to motivate and enthuse others of the need for change
- Ability to work with unpredictable situations and under pressure and to tight deadlines with frequent interruptions

**Experience**:

- Track record of providing HR advice to services and managers in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Experience in the public sector in a large complex organisation with union recognition
- Generalist HR experience demonstrating competence across the range of HR functions
- Experience of working with business performance metrics/data to guide and direct strategy
- Experience of supporting change management within a large complex environment
- Experience in change leadership; creating meaning, innovation, transformation and problem solving
