An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance to work for this hugely successful charity. Reporting to the CEO, your duties will be as follows:

- Providing excellent leadership and an effective strategic focus for the finance team
- Ensuring the provision of high-quality services to the rest of the organisation
- Developing financial strategies to support the organisation’s plan
- Providing high-level advice and support to the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Board
- Development and monitoring of effective control and aspirational budgets
- Supporting the organisation and staff with budgeting and financial/business planning
- Supporting business development with budgets/revenue/capital opportunities
- Ensuring effective negotiation of new contracts concerning finance
- Treasury management and investment, securing the best returns, minimising risk and ensuring sound cash flow
- Improving systems for recording income and expenditure; payroll, including pensions, purchase and sales ledger
- Working closely with the housing management team and overseeing the development, implementation and management of a housing rental income programme
- Overseeing the development and implementation of a cost-effective procurement strategy
- Preparing the annual consolidated statutory accounts each year in preparation for audit for the charity and its trading subsidiaries
- Ensuring that financial controls are working effectively, reviewed and regularly tested
- Ensuring that budget leads have management accounts information in a timely manner
- Ensuring service contracts with suppliers are reviewed
- Ensuring that all statutory, accounting and regulatory requirements are met
- Monitoring the Charity’s restricted fund accounts in partnership with the CEO

You will be a qualified Accountant and ideally have worked for a charity or housing organisation previously. Strong Sage and Excel would be useful. A desire to expand the charity’s business interests and play an integral role in the charity’s strategy isessential.
