Senior Digital Designer

Edinburgh, or UK remote Are you a creative, versatile multimedia designer? We need a curious, passionate Senior Digital Designer who is capable across platforms. You'll help us develop our digital design capability through leadership and inventive concepts. You'll work with Design and Marketing to ensure our work is relevant, high-quality and stands out. Digital Designers conduct research and development on new ideas and techniques. They create treatments for innovative, original work - both online and off. You'll have an exceptional eye for aesthetics and be familiar with best practices in the field while balancing and prioritising your time and output. To maintain xDesign output quality, you'll be able to change direction and are someone who pushes your skills beyond fundamentals. You go beyond pixel-perfect work, to work that articulates a point of view and a creative vision. You understand brand guidelines - but you know when to break the rules. You'll know when to take direction, and when to push back or go a different way. We do our best to be remote-first, so everyone feels an equal part of the team, no matter where they are. **What you'll do**: - Generate creative treatments for content, print work, merchandise, multimedia and across platforms - Deliver ideas from early concepts to finish through continuous iterations. - Iteration and versioning of assets for use across channels - Work closely with your colleagues and clients to interpret the brief and understand both user and business needs - Use your strong eye for aesthetics and visual details to ensure a quality final product - Recognise the possibilities beyond the scope of the assignment - Maintain high standards of quality and making sure only the best work is shared with stakeholders - Collaborate across the organisation to drive up standards of digital creativity - Be autonomous, taking responsibility for every detail of your work. - Be an active part of the design practice culture, attending crits, cooldowns and creative group sessions **Must haves**: - Agency or in-house experience - Experience in Figma - Exceptional graphic design skills, with a particular sensitivity for typography - Proven experience as a senior digital designer and a design portfolio that shows conceptual thinking and proficiency - Proven organisational and communication skills - Internal and client-facing presentation skills - Good time management skills - A keen eye for detail - Proven ability to deliver creative elements of projects on brief, on time and on budget (often to demanding deadlines) - Experience creating visual identities and brand guidelines - The ability to work autonomously - Creative Suites skills - An awareness of product design and UX - Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams **Even better**: - Video skills - Motion graphics - Some copywriting skills/awareness **What our designers say**: "I look forward to Monday mornings where I get to work alongside passionate and inspiring designers.
