We currently have a vacancy for a part time Administrator at a Band 3 (Thursday-Friday only) some flexibility will be required to cover annual leave.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is organised and methodical to join our 'family-friendly' and dedicated Newborn Hearing Screening team based at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. The post holder will be required to support the team and the effective delivery of service administratively excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent computer skills are required. Experience of working in an administrative role is desirable.

We are seeking a flexible and adaptable person who has the ability to perform under pressure and work as a positive member of the team.

The Harrow, Ealing & Brent Newborn Hearing Screening Administrator is an integral role within our team, required to help support and correctly process the provision of the hearing screening pathway for babies as soon as is practicable, considering a baby and his/her parent’s needs. Assisting and deputizing administratively for the local manager. Be responsible for all transferring/sharing and investigation of records on the NHSP database. Work as a member of the team and provide comprehensive and quality administrative functions for the Programme

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The poster-holder will provide administrative support of the Newborn Hearing Programme.

**This will mainly include**:

- Supporting the Newborn Hearing Team in the delivery of our primary ‘Key Performance

Indicators’ of quality and activity that we are responsible for providing.
- Ensuring the processes around the clinical management of a baby’s hearing screen is streamlined, organised and meets the needs of the local population.
- Communicating appropriately and effectively with all NHSP stakeholders as required (see Key working relationships) to enhance our reputation and promote our service’s importance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data entry onto NHSP administrative systems and child health systems.
- Manage the movement and transfer of babies records between NHSP sites with accuracy, timeliness and with clarity for those sites and the parents concerned.
- Deal with and relay telephone messages between parents, audiology

professionals, midwives, Health Visitors, GPs, staff etc. to a satisfactory
conclusion.
- Ensure prompt notification of other healthcare professionals of screening

outcomes and referrals to paediatric audiology services.
- Maintain the office filing and patient record systems, including patient

registration preparation of daily and weekly clinics and data collection.
- Communicate clearly with parents about babies’ screening results and

appointments on phone, face to face as well as letter.
- When parents’ first language is not English arrange an interpreter (if required at outpatient clinics.
- Communicate with newborn hearing screening staff locally and nationally.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings are required by service co-ordinator and Team Leader.
- To act as the first point of contact for newborn hearing screening enquiries.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers.
- Act in such a manner as to maintain and protect patients, their families and staff confidentiality at all times.
- To establish a working rapport with other team members and contribute to team meetings.
