The acquisition of Atkins created a global fully integrated professional services and project management company - including capital investment, consulting, design, engineering, construction, sustaining capital and operations and maintenance.

The newly created Engineering Services sector is a fully integrated business comprising of Atkins, Mining & Metallurgy and SNCL Infrastructure Services. It is the largest sector of our four (the other three are Capital / O&M, Major Projects and Nuclear).

**About the role**:
As Head of Data Strategy and Data Management you will define, create, and implement a robust and consistent approach to the collection, management and storage of data across the whole of our global digital portfolio. As a visible business leader your ultimate aim will be to maximise the value we get from ethically and safely using our stored data, as well as defining how we obtain this data, to inform the strategy of the wider business.

The role has two key components; data strategy and data management. Strategically, you will need to identify the power data can have for our clients and translate that into a business strategy that aligns all of our teams.

From a data management perspective, using industry best practices you will define the framework to ensure the business is not exposed to any data risks, and be the technical authority on data management. These two crucial components make up the technical expertise of the Head of Data Strategy and Data Management.

Reporting into the Global Digital Director for Engineering Services, collaboration will also be key in this exciting role. You will work with key stakeholders such as Head of Data Compliance, the Chief Information Security Officer, product teams and IT services to establish a culture of safeguarding data across the portfolio in order to achieve maximum impact of data both internally and externally. You will also be championed to identify and build a high performing data management team to create visibility and coherence across some of our most vital projects and programmes.

**Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)**:

- Determining our digital portfolio data quality and maturity level, alongside identifying future opportunities.
- To proactively engage with the wider business to define and establish and enterprise-wide data strategy that will support our digital future.
- You will ensure all data governance standards and industry standards are appropriately implemented, developing guidelines and standards for the business.
- You will collaborate with solution architects, global practice leads, product owners, and data governance to ensure the enterprise data infrastructure is built in alignment with our strategy and standards.
- You will ensure all solutions are secure, stable and scalable across the global business.
- Creating a high performing team over time, that supports your strategic vision and increases value for the organization.

**About you**:

- You will be an expert in the ethical management of data, with experience as a technical authority on data management or related area.
- You will be an inspiring leader, committed to our long-term strategic goals including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- You will have proven experience of strategic delivery of an enterprise-wide data strategy.
- You will be comfortable working with global and virtual teams to develop and maintain data-driven standards.
- You will be comfortable operating with senior stakeholders at board level.
- You will be a graduate of computer science or a directly related field (desirable).
- You will have experience in the construction and engineering industry (desirable).
