The University of St Andrews and the town are synonymous with golf. The size of the student club is continually growing, with increased opportunities and improved experiences for our current students, but also our alumni. We are passionate about women’s golf and are proud to support the largest number of female student golf scholars in The UK. We are committed to the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, and are motivated to develop, support and shape our students as people and leaders of the future, not just golfers.

St Andrews alumni are highly engaged and generous with their philanthropy. The University launched Making Waves: The Campaign for St Andrews in September 2024, with the ambition to raise £300m. This includes funding for sport programmes and scholarships, including the prestigious Arnold Palmer Scholarship and the 600 Club which enables us to provide excellent support, opportunities and experiences for our top golfers.

While these supporters are essential to the success of the golf programme, we are eager to expand our network of funders. The post holder will play a key role in strengthening existing relationships and attracting additional support.

As one of St Andrews’ eight performance teams, the University of St Andrews are the current British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Team Matchplay Champions, having also won the title in 2022 and 2023. As individuals, we have achieved much success in the R&A’s Student Tour Series, the highest standard of student golf outside of North America. As a 1st year student, Ellie Monk’s victory in the 2024 Helen Holm Scottish Women's Open Championship is an indication of our potential and the beginning of our far reaching ambitions. In 2025, 1st year undergraduate student, Judy Joo, and postgraduate, Judd Sundelson, won the female and male R&A Student Tour Series Order of Merit, the first time at St Andrews student has won either.
