**Your Role**

**As a Benefit Funding Officer, you will**:
Deliver Local Assistance: Play a key role in implementing other local assistance schemes, ensuring our customers receive the support they need.

Collaborate with Services and Agencies: Work alongside various services and organizations to support customers with complex needs.

Champion Customer Care: This role is centered on providing compassionate support to our most vulnerable customers. With the customer at the heart of what we do, you'll be making a meaningful impact every day

**What You Bring**

We seek individuals with a strong commitment to customer service who can respond with empathy and positivity. Ideally, you will:
Have recent experience assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims, along with a solid understanding of the relevant regulations and legislation.

Possess experience in a customer support environment, engaging with customers one-on-one.

Have excellent communication skills, able to explain complex issues and provide guidance across various contact channels.

Be a confident and proactive decision-maker with a strong approach to problem resolution.

Hold a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.

**Additional Information**

You may need to travel to other offices in North Yorkshire for training and team meetings. This role involves handling sensitive information, so a basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
