**Job Title**:Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer

**Location**:The Cuttings, Harrogate (Head Office). (Blended with home-working optional)

**Hours**: Part-time (22.5 hours per week). May involve some weekend and or/evening work

**Rate of Pay**:£24,000-£27,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

**The Role**:
We are looking for an experienced Community Engagement Officer (and Fundraising) to promote the organisation and its work to key stakeholders across Harrogate and surrounding areas. This position requires a confident, approachable, and warm individual to raise awareness of the organisation's reliance and need for community support. The Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer will also increase resident and client engagement with activities that promote their mental, physical, and nutritional wellbeing.

The job requires the post holder to be a self-starter who can manage their workload and be willing to get stuck in during this exciting time for Harrogate Neighbours

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Collaborate with Community-based funding initiatives working in partnership with other organisations on joint/multiple funding bids
- Identifying opportunities that will have a positive impact on Charity and the local community
- To work with the CEO and the PR Lead on updating marketing and communications strategic plans
- To work with the COO and CEO to produce and deliver an engaging and enriching calendar of activities including those linked to key celebrations and national events
- To connect with local businesses and grow community links to encourage communication, CSR, and potential fundraising opportunities
- Working to and achieving annual set funding targets within set budgets
- Developing relationships with major, regular, and potential donors and funders
- To provide an active contribution to the Fundraising Committee
- Work with the CEO and Senior Management Team on fundraising activities and approaches to, but not limited to, legacies, major donors, appeals, events, and regular giving
- Ensure fundraising activities are legal and consistent with the Fundraising Regulator and are compliant with all major legislation including GDPR
- Liaise with community groups, schools, colleges, and focus on community engagement by: attending local events, fairs, coffee mornings and information sessions; provide presentations on HNHA services to stakeholders and local groups and businesses; attend neighbourhood meetings and liaise with community and neighbourhood groups
- Maintain contact records and spreadsheets and complete Monthly Outreach Reports
**Skills and Experience _Required_**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Good knowledge of GDPR
- Strong IT skills
- Proven track record of community engagement
- Experience of marketing and social media
- Good grammar and mathematical ability
- Good time management and ability to prioritise
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively
- Knowledge and experience of database management
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently and within a busy team
**Skills and Experience _Desired_**:

- Experience working in another area of fundraising, or have transferrable skills from a different role, including volunteering opportunities
- UK Driving License desirable for work in the community
