Corstorphine Childcare after-school club

We’re a brand-new after-school club in Corstorphine (EH12).

We’re starting small with just 30 children from Corstorphine Primary School so we’ll be a small team.

We’re looking for child care practitioners even with little to no experience (with training provided) and a more experienced play leader.

The club will run from Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 6pm in term time and ideally we’d like applicants to be able to work all four days but will also consider people who can only work 3 shifts per week.

Job requirements:

- A passion and love of working with children is essential
- The role is also a great opportunity for students, such as trainee teacher, teaching assistant, trainee teaching assistant or students studying towards early years care qualifications. It may also suit parents or retirees.
- Applicants for a play leader position would be expected to have a relevant qualification, (minimum of SCQF Level 7 which is equivalent to SVQ Level 3)
- Successful applicants will be required to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council), provide 2 written references, and must be eligible to work in the UK.

Main Duties will include:

- Providing fun activities based on children's interests
- Keeping registers
- Responsibility for safely escorting children from school
- Health and safety procedures such as head counts and following risk assessments
- Assist with serving meals/snacks
- General cleaning and maintenance
- Working with families

The successful applicant will be able to work on own initiative as well as work well in a team and have excellent communication skills.

**Salary**: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
