**Overview**
SASCS is a charitable, not for profit organisation, which provides breakfast, after school and holiday services to children and their families. We are looking to employ an energetic, enthusiastic and fun individual to work as a Play Leader within our busy team and support our thriving after school club service.

**Responsibilities**
- Working as part of our established team to provide childcare for up to 85 children each day. Strong team working skills are essential, as well as a willingness to take on a variety of roles including preparation of a healthy snack, set up and tidy up of the playroom and general supervision of children's play.
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities and play experiences.
- Taking an active role in planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and care environment - activities can include art and crafts, science, baking, outdoor games, sports, and can be based on your interests and skills, we are always open to new ideas
- Responsibility for specific club administration, as discussed and agreed with SASCS Management Team, including taking an active role in contributing to and maintaining children's personal plans.
- Striving hard to offer an excellent service to the children in our care. This involves regular participation in team briefing and evaluation sessions and having a genuine interest in being part of a high-quality childcare environment.

**Requirements**:

- You must have experience of working with groups of primary school aged children, in an out of school care environment or similar
- You must hold a qualification which allows you to register as a PRACTITIONER with the SSSC within the day care of children, this includes:
HNC in Childhood Practice

SVQ3 in Play Work

NNEB

Social Services (Children and Young People) SQF level 7

Other qualifications may be accepted as detailed on the Scottish Social Services Council website
- You must be willing to complete mandatory training as deemed necessary within the day care of children sector as well as have an interest in pursuing continuous professional learning. We provide an online training hub to support staff with training requirements and supplement this with whole staff in-house training.

Additional Information:
Monday - 1.30-6.00pm

Tuesday - 2.30 - 6.00pm

Wednesday - 1.30 - 6.00pm

Thursday - 1.30 - 6.00pm

Friday - 10.30am - 6.00pm

Hours of work may be available outside of term time/ during school holiday periods, these hours are optional and at the discretion of SASCS Management Team and as necessitated by the needs of the scheme. The normal working hours during these periods are 8.30 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid break each day.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
