Your new role

Do you enjoy preparing and analysing data? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Governance & Performance Manager to join our Regional Investment Programme (RIP) South team in Bedford. This role can be flexibly based in either Bedford, Birmingham,Bristol or Guildford but some travel would be required to attend key activities in our Bedford office 3 to 4 times per month.

This role would suit someone who has experience of building strong collaborative relationships and preparing and assuring data.

What you will be leading on
- Supporting the development of the regional schedule for assurance reviews, proactively working with schemes to ensure submissions are prepared and made in a timely manner.
- Ensuring submissions follow the latest guidance and liaise with the central secretariat to manage Governance bookings.
- Developing regional expertise on Governance processes and identifying best practice. Leading on continuous improvement regionally and contributing to innovation within the wider programme.
- Supporting the management of baselines for cost and schedule. Monitoring scheme performance against that baseline and providing analysis and commentary for reporting purposes and to inform business decisions.
- Leading on change control for the region, advising stakeholders on where change may be required. Owning the activities to manage change and ensure that all tasks are completed within deadline.
- Producing monthly reporting to inform key stakeholders on programme performance and providing recommendations.
- Assisting with more general duties, fielding enquiries and providing advice for schemes, including monitoring and challenging general scheme performance.
- Building collaborative relationships with Project teams, Sponsors, stakeholders, customers and delivery partners to ensure the flow of consistent accurate data and information.
- Participating in undertaking Deep Dive reviews of projects to assure Project Controls processes and data and feeding back results.

To be successful:

- Experience collating and analysing data and preparing reports and briefing stakeholders on performance.
- The ability to support the embedment of change and process updates.
- An understanding of baseline management and the importance of monitoring performance.
- Experience of quality assuring performance reporting.
- The ability to develop an understanding of risk, schedule and cost management processes and tools.
- The ability to prioritise conflicting demands in order to meet challenging deadlines.
- The ability to form and develop positive, helpful, responsive and supportive relationships with supply chain and regional teams.
- Sound interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
- Proficient in the use of systems and software packages.
