A leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical engineering products has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to join their business. The company are diversifying their activities and maintain significant growth in the utility sectors. Thisis a great time to join the company bringing with it the chance for the appointed Finance Director to support and contribute to the direction and five year strategic plan during their next phase of growth.

The Role
The principle function for the role is to provide robust control of the business by:
Being a proactive member of the executive management team, directly accountable for the overall financial performance of the business. Involved in making considered recommendations to ensure the continual improvement of the financial performance of the business
Manage and deliver the financial reporting function, accurately, within deadlines, and in as controlled and automated a process as is achievable.
This includes managing the monthly reporting and annual reporting requirements
Lead financial planning, forecasting and budgeting.
Continuously improve the company’s financial controls and reporting systems, in accordance with the Senior Accounting Office requirements
Assist in contract negotiation and management where applicable such as insurance policies, ensuring appropriate and cost effective cover
Guide managers within the business to ensure that correct financial procedures are followed and all areas of the business understand the financial implications of the decisions they take.
Present commercially relevant financial information at all levels from management to through to the board
Review contractual obligations
Manage, develop, train, appraise and motivate the team within the finance department
Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level and will be able to demonstrate a stable track record of success identifying opportunities within business' to reduce costs through financial analysis. Suitable Finance Directors will have ideally workedfor a company within the manufacturing, construction or utility sectors. It is essential applicants have worked in a senior management position and be able to show significant experience in the preparation of company accounts, and managing the year end process.
