As Operations Training Manager at Unipart Logistics, you will work in the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new 2.94m square foot Merciacampus, one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer. With a multimillion-pound major facility investment program already underway, you will develop innovative training methods and approaches to support the new operation. You will achievethat through adopting the most cost effective and best in class training methods into our warehouse environment.
You will actively develop technical and operational insight into the Client’s present and future requirements in order to introduce and sustain an effective training plan in line with our business and people strategy.
**Operations Training Manager Key Responsibilities**:
- Undertake Training Needs Analysis to identify and advise on skill and capability gaps from a technical operations process perspective and coordinate all training related administration
- Create and develop a virtual training infrastructure to ensure effective induction and on the job training for Technicians, Operational Colleagues and where appropriate Team Leaders
- Promote and advise on safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health and the suitability of the facility, protective equipment and control measures
- Engage with stakeholders and manage their requirements
- Liaise with central support functions to consolidate training needs
- Provide budget proposals for the development and maintenance of training solutions
- Develop innovative training methods to transfer learning
- Create measures and processes to review effectiveness of learning and how training can be continuously improved
**Operations Training Manager Requirements**:
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to liaise with varying levels of technical staff and customers
- Experience in L&D roles or delivering / implementing training strategy
- Adaptable and able to react quickly and effectively to changes and requests
- Work well in a team and good leadership skills
- PC Literate and competent in the use of the complete Microsoft Package suite
- Ability to work to targets and timescales
- Willingness to learn about new technology
- Experience of working with learning management systems
- Understanding of learning cycle and training needs analysis
