The Peterborough School is the leading independent co-educational school in Peterborough for approximately to 450 pupils aged 4 - 18 years. There is also an excellent Nursery, which cares for 57 children.

Reporting directly to the Headmaster, the Head of Marketing is a pivotal strategic role. The appointed person will provide dynamic and creative leadership for marketing and admissions in order to enhance the perception of The Peterborough School to enhance pupil recruitment, retention and partnerships.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
- Supporting the Headteacher in promoting the aims of The Peterborough School.
- Working energetically towards the aims of the School Development Strategy, promulgating them, and other policy developments.
- Working with the Headmaster to write and implement the School’s Strategy and Activity plans.
- Responsible for all aspects of marketing within the School, working to increase pupil numbers and links with the wider community.
- Responsible for all aspects of the School’s admissions process, through line management of the Admissions Manager, offering support and guidance when necessary.
- Responsible for managing and communicating with the School’s Alumni, ‘The Westwoodians’, working as Secretary and Treasurer to the Association.
- Advising the Senior Leadership Team on school marketing.

**Marketing**
- Organising effective publicity and marketing of the school, including advertising, writing press releases and arranging photography, liaising with external photographers, taking photos or arranging for others to do so at school events, communicating with the local and, when appropriate, national media.
- Arranging advertising, through social media, print or otherwise. Working with the School’s design agency to create relevant, engaging concepts and multi-channel campaigns across.
- Monitoring press for pertinent news stories.
- Conducting primary research, including designing and implementing school surveys, followed by analysis of the results and providing summaries of findings.
- Working as Web-manager, being responsible for the School’s website; working with the web hosting company and using the Content Management System to edit the website, ensuring news, events and other content including photography are up to date.
- Organising the production of marketing collateral, ensuring all materials suitably reflect the school’s brand.
- Proof-reading and editing all external communications, including letters from teachers, the weekly parent newsletter, the monthly nursery newsletter, event programmes/orders of service etc.
- Working with and acting as secretary to the Marketing Forum - a group of staff who have an interest in marketing - which meets when specific projects or queries arise.
- Acting as secretary to the Governors’ Marketing and Development Sub-Committee. Organising and issuing Agendas and taking and distributing minutes. Providing content for the meetings, including web stats, conversion rates, activity summaries and doing any other preparation or research ahead of the meeting.
- Coordinating Development and Fundraising activity, working with the wider team on larger projects.
- Preparing and managing the Marketing and Development budget.

**Marketing Events**
- Leading the promotion and organisation of marketing events such as Open Events, Entrance Examinations, Feeder School theme days and, where appropriate, devising advertising campaigns to promote events.
