Are you passionate about safeguarding and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals? Torus is seeking a dedicated **Safeguarding Advisor** to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Interim Operations Manager for Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding to ensure that our organisation adheres to current safeguarding and domestic abuse legislation, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
You will work collaboratively with various business areas and stakeholders to promote effective safeguarding practices across the Group. Additionally, you will assist in the planning and delivery of safeguarding awareness initiatives, including events, communications, and briefings, while providing essential administrative support to Torus’ safeguarding subgroups. **Responsibilities**:
- Support Torus’ work with tenants and user groups to ensure that their voice and views are represented in policy, procedure, and service development.
- Promote best practice in relation to internal and external safeguarding concerns and across the heartlands. Work collaboratively with teams to ensure a consistent approach to safeguarding practices and implementation of policy and procedure.
- Support the work of Torus’ safeguarding subgroups and provide admin support where required.
- Monitor safeguarding data and dashboard; create papers for the safeguarding subcommittee, subgroups, and partner agencies where required.
- Oversee safeguarding concerns recorded internally, providing advice and support to managers and colleagues regarding safeguarding policy, procedure, and case management.
- Represent Torus at multi-agency meetings and forums where required. Build positive working relationships with partner agencies and ensure effective information-sharing practices and collaborative approaches to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults, children, and young people.
- Support the development of colleagues and managers through the delivery of training and learning opportunities which complement the mandatory onboarding and training modules, building skills and competencies around safeguarding, domestic abuse, and case management.
- Support with the planning and delivery of safeguarding awareness-raising initiatives, including safeguarding events, communications, and briefings.
- Provide support to develop Torus’ Domestic Abuse Champion Network.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Degree level education, or equivalent or demonstrable experience
- CIH Level 4 or willingness to work towards
- Extensive knowledge of supported housing and domestic abuse services including Supporting People requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding requirements and legislation
- Excellent IT skills.
- Extensive knowledge of industry best practice and the ability to integrate into policy, procedures, and processes.
- Experience of performance management including setting, agreeing, and monitoring standards.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation in supported housing.
