An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Officer to play an integral role in a national online Mentoring Programme for a leading University.
The Project Officer will play an integral role in recruiting, training and coordinating HE undergraduates to mentor young adults between the ages of 16-19 to engage in further education. You will also take a lead role in working closely with local schoolsand colleges to recruit and engage the mentees to deliver a successful programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an extremely rewarding project working with passionate people in order to shape the future of people from under-represented backgrounds by facilitating the entrance into Higher Education.
The post would suit an exceptional individual who:
- Is experienced working with Further Education or Higher Education
- Understands local communities and marginalised/disadvantaged groups
- Is educated to degree level or equivalent
- Is organised with the ability to manage a variety of tasks
- Has developed and delivered training programme across different users
- Has a good understanding or project management tools and techniques
- Can communicate at all levels of an organisation
- Is computer literate, particular with internet search and MS Office suite
As part of the role, you should be prepared to travel across designated region(s) and occasionally to other parts of Wales and the UK.
- Can communicate fluently in English and Welsh - however this is not essential
- Have previous experience in the recruitment and training of HE/FE students
- Have previous experience in mentoring programmes
- Can deliver training via Teams, Zoom and/or other online platforms
