We are looking to appoint a full/part-time research officers/research project support officer to gain practical research experience to further enhance their CV.
The National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research, funded by the Welsh Government through Health and Care Research Wales, brings together a world-class team of researchers, statisticians and data analysts from the Universities of Swansea, Cardiff, and Bangor alongside Public Health Wales to understand, evaluate and inform population health Improvements. The post holder could be located at Cardiff, Swansea or Bangor and develop a mix of virtual and in person working with NCPHWR colleagues across Wales and beyond.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
The successful applicants will when appropriate be required to travel for conducting fieldwork and project meetings and events.

Purpose of the Job

**Responsibilities**:
Grade 6 (RPSO)
- To provide support to the research team in the gathering and analysis of data. This could include; participating in data collection or sampling / computer data entry / taking part in scientific literature searches / gathering data and information from focus groups or interviews / assist in the design and implementation of research- To work as part of the research team in delivering research outcomes. This could include: contributing towards the creation of reports and publication in research journals / helping in the preparation of materials for presentation to conferences / supporting the research team in the presentation of research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders as part of knowledge transfer / taking part in the organisation of events and seminars to disseminate information.- To assist and support in the administration of the research project. This might include; arranging research related meetings / circulating information / collecting and completing research related timesheets- To assist and support in the monitoring of financial controls associated with the research project. This might include; monitoring and gathering invoices for payment / taking part in research team discussions relating to budgets / entering data and preparing reports in order to monitor research project finance / assist in the preparation and proposals for research funding.- Other duties and responsibilities specific to the role include. This could include other areas that the role holder would be expected to support or participate in the research project.Grade 7 (Research Officer)
- Gathering and analysis of data. This could include: - reviewing and analysing literature/ collecting and analysing mainly qualitative data (interviews, focus groups etc), production and analysis of questionnaires; conduct and analysis of mixed-methods research- Delivering research outcomes. This could include:
- contributing to the dissemination of research outputs through relevant scientific technical and public press and conferences / working with partners to disseminate findings/ writing regular updates on progress to the project management group / collaborating with co-researchers and writing up the findings in scientific articles / write final reports / discussing and sharing findings with grant holders.- Administration of the research project. This might include:
- participating in project meetings / coordinating the project to meet aims and objectives / liaising with stakeholders (external and internal).- Monitoring of financial controls associated with the research project. This could include: Monitoring and reviewing costing to ensure research project is with budget / research equipment costings.Other
