Established in 1823, Olivers is proud to remain a wholly owned family business now in its seventh generation. We are committed to providing an unparalleled end-to-end service for all machinery and equipment needs in Agriculture, Groundcare, Commercial vehicles and event hire. Since 2015 we have seen significant growth and now have 185 staff operating from 8 sites in the Southeast of England and the Midlands as well as a small office based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Due to this expansion, we are now looking to recruit an HR administrator based in the **Jesmond/Gosforth area of Newcastle** to join our growing team.
As an HR Administrator, you will provide comprehensive office and administrative support across a range of HR activities. In this highly varied role, you will undertake general HR administrative duties some of the responsibilities include responding to general HR queries, updating and maintaining HR systems, processing new starters and leavers and ensuring all HR records are up to date and in line with current legislation.
You will need to have a strong attention to detail, be highly organised and be able to take your own initiative. You will need to have good communication skills along with good interpersonal qualities to allow you to form good working relationships with colleagues. You will need to be a confident user of Microsoft packages and ideally have previous experience within a HR role.
**Key Roles and Objectives**
- Set up the onboarding process for new employees, which includes preparing paperwork and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in line with current legislation including GDPR. This includes personal information, employment history, performance evaluations, and training records and involves using BreatheHR and other database systems.
- Ensure all probationary reviews and appraisals are carried out and recorded.
- Assist in processing employee benefits programs such as health insurance, and retirement plans.
- Collaborating with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll. This may involve verifying timesheets, updating employee payroll records, and addressing payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations related to employment.
- Provide support in handling employee enquiries, concerns, and grievances.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning. This may involve collecting and analysing data related to recruitment, turnover, employee demographics, and other HR metrics.
- Perform various administrative tasks to support the HR department, such as filing paperwork, managing correspondence, and organising HR-related events or meetings.
**Skills Required**:
- Previous administrative experience
- Need to be detail oriented with strong organisational skills
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Packages and wider IT systems
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet to deadlines
- Understanding of HR Administration regulations and procedures - Desirable
**Benefits**
- Salary: £20k to £25k pro rata per annum based on experience
- Holiday entitlement: 24 days pro rata per year plus bank holidays
- Pension: 3% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution
- Life Assurance including dependent’s pension
- Ongoing training as required
**Hours & Other**
- 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday with exact days and hours to be agreed with some ongoing flexibility offered)
- Part-time permanent contract
- Based in Gosforth/Jesmond area of Newcastle Upon Tyne
- Potential for additional hours in the future
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
