We are seeking a Highway Technician to provide technical expertise and support in the planning and design of local highways schemes. The role involves overseeing junior technicians, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the successful delivery of highways projects. You will assist with preparing detailed design drawings using CAD software and contribute to developing project plans, specifications, and cost estimates. This is a 6 month contract that falls outside IR35.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of local highways schemes.
- Oversee and mentor junior technicians, ensuring adherence to regulations, standards, and project objectives.
- Prepare detailed highway design drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Contribute to the development of project plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure that projects meet required quality, safety, and design standards.

**Key Requirements**:

- Qualification: Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years in highway or transportation design.
- Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, AutoTrack, or KeySign is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices related to highway design, particularly on local road networks.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently and in a team environment.
