Our hosts are the first point of contact for our guests, for this role you should have excellent organisational and people skills, to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.
**Key Skills**:
- Welcoming guests into the venue.
- Escort guests to their assigned dining or bar area.
- Manage reservations through our Open Table booking system.
- Provide an explanation of how to order and an overview of the venue.
- Cater to guests who require extra attention.
- Coordinate with wait staff and floor managers about available seating options.
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area.
- Assist wait staff as needed.
- Work with CS team to deliver best in class customer booking experience
**Host Responsibilities**:
- Excellent customer service skills are required for this role. Providing all guests with a warm welcome and a fond farewell, leaving guests with a positive lasting impression.
- Confidence to deal with high volumes of guests and bookings, remaining calm and in control during busy periods.
- Showing guests through to their tables. Once seated, explaining the full steps of service to guests, explaining the app, how to order, where the bathrooms are and answering any questions they may have. It is also your responsibility to ensure guests leave their table on time, ideally with a 15 minute warning reminding them politely that their time on the table is almost up. Being efficient and up to date with turn times and updates.
- Managing any ticketed events, providing wristbands or stamps where necessary and organising event ingress/egress.
- Excellent problem solving skills, ability to rethink a seating plan on the spot especially when dealing with larger groups.
- Support the Host Manager with seating plans and Open Table reservations and the set up for the day, manipulating the bookings prior to service and throughout to maximise covers.
- Run and manage the desk on shift. Become an expert on our reservations system, being able to manage the book back to back and drive sales through the acquisition of covers.
- Know the site and venue
- know the best areas to assign parties. Assist in managing all bookings, ensuring any large parties are arranged in advance of their arrival. Contacting any bookings where relevant. -Have full knowledge of the site, including floor plans, directions, access, opening times, menus, events. -Assisting guests in making a reservation, ensuring they know what they are booking and where. -Handling any guest queries and requests effectively.
- Handling management and staff requests effectively, using the radio to communicate with staff in a professional manner.
- Organise table plans in line with reservations due in, ensuring tables are set accordingly with correct QR codes and number of seats per table matching the Open Table system on the iPad.
- Familiarise yourself with any special requests on bookings on a daily basis, making sure any voucher/discount codes are written out prior to guests arrival.
- Directing host support staff accordingly throughout their shift on best service and best practice.
Communicating any key information prior to their shift via the brief sheet.
- A passion for guest welfare in a busy, vibrant and lively environment, it is fast paced and we cover a lot of ground, a sense of urgency is required with high levels of pride for the service you’re providing to both our
guests and our vendors, leading by example to the host team.
