Bell Lax Solicitors are a growing company and due to this growth, we are looking to expand our Operations and HR team. This means a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Operations Assistant to help across several areas of our company. The role will be varied, and no day will be the same.

This role will include, but is not limited to:
**Personal Assistant**
- Assist one of the Directors to ensure the efficient running of the business
- Organise and manage their diary
- Take detailed messages on their behalf and relay these accurately
- Liaise with others internally and externally on their behalf
- Arrange travel requirements and bookings
- Clearly communicate information to the Director
- Attend senior management meetings and take notes when required

**Operations**
- Assist the Head of Operations in the daily operations of the business
- Liaise with external companies to ensure contracts are in place and up to date
- Liaise with IT to ensure the efficient running of the business
- Maintain records to ensure information is readily available
- Assist with the ordering of equipment, including stationery and IT equipment
- Review and update the Office Manual and Staff Handbook when required
- Review and update the companies Policies and Procedures
- Assist with overseeing the running of our systems to ensure everything is working correctly and dealing with any issues in a timely manner
- Collate reports required by the Directors so they can make informed decisions
- Assist with setting up employees on specific systems
- Review systems and procedures to see if improvements can be made and suggest ways to make these improvements
- Ensure employees are confident about the procedures we have in place and provide training when required

**HR**
- Assist with ensuring employees right to work and completing DBS checks when required
- Assist with the induction of new employees
- Collaborate with management to develop training programmes that enhance employee skills and career development
- Assist with monitoring holidays and sickness absence
- Assist with maintaining accurate employee records
- Assist with arranging company meetings and team building activities
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to address concerns and promote a positive work environment
- Assist with conducting employee appraisals
- Liaise with payroll

- Highly organised and a confident communicator
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A good listener who wants the best for employees and the business
- Able to work collaboratively with the Head of Operations and Director
- Have knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook
- The ability to act in a confidential manner at all times
- The ability to act in a professional manner at all times
- There may be times when you are required to travel between offices to assist with the running of the business, so flexibility is also important

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Schedule:
