**Job summary**

The Attendance Officer is responsible for monitoring students’ attendance and contacting students’ to discuss their attendance record, when needed.

**Key responsabilities**
- To monitor and track students’ attendance daily according to the reports and notifications received;
- To contact students to discuss establish reasons for absences and to recommend referrals to support students (academic/pastoral) when needed;
- To report students with prolonged absences and report/refer them when required to the Student & Academic Services Manager;
- To maintain and manage absence evidence provided by students and update the system with excused/unexcused absences;
- To issue attendance engagement warning letters and maintain an accurate and updated record of the issued letters;
- To keep an accurate record of all the consultations done with students;
- To prepare attendance reports when required;
- To escalate to the Student Services Manager and to the Visa Manager any attendance related issues for students with Visa and non-responding students;
- To proactively contribute to raise students’ attendance rate;
- To assist the school in ensuring the attendance policy is respected;
- To undertake such other duties that are required commensurate with the role.

**Knowledge and skills required**
- Educated at a degree level;
- Experience in working in an educational environment;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Cultural awareness;
- Knowledge of Equality and Diversity;
- High level of personal integrity and confidentiality;
- Proactive attitute;
- Team work;
- Ability to cope with pressure and to manage difficult situations.
