**ENERGY INNOVATION CENTRE: Part-Time Finance Assistant**
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our team, hours and days negotiable.
The Energy Innovation Centre (“EIC”) was launched in 2008 to accelerate the discovery, development and deployment of innovation for the Energy industry to achieve net zero by 2050. At the EIC, we support the innovation ambitions of our industry partners from the gas, electricity and other utility sectors by helping them to discover new technologies that meet their challenges. We do this by constantly searching for new ideas from around the world that have the potential to be game-changing for energy consumers, the supply chain and the industry itself. Once we have identified these ideas and technologies, we help the people behind them to get access to the large energy companies and together help drive these innovations to the next stage of their development.
**Summary of key requirements and skills for the role**
- Book-keeping / Accounts experience.
- Advanced use in Sage 50.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience of working for an SME in a hands-on role.
- Excellent team player with a flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Enthusiasm and confidence to recommend changes to increase efficiency.
**Role Summary**:
- **Project Finance Management**:Project payment schedules, invoicing, and produce project finance reconciliation monthly.
- accurately maintained.
- **Manage Accounts Payable**: Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs.
- **Bank Reconciliations**: Produce weekly reconciliations using Sage 50.
- **Reporting and Analysis**: Prepare regular Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) reports, track payment trends, and support the Financial Controller with cash flow forecasting.
- **Team Collaboration**: Support engineers in managing project finances.
- **Industry Partner Liaison**:Ensure Purchase Orders and invoices are raised in a timely manner.
- **Financial Records**:Maintain accurate records and provide support for balance sheet account reconciliations.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify and propose improvements to the transactional processes to increase efficiency in project finances.
- **Adhoc Duties**: Perform other tasks as required to meet business needs.
**Pay and benefits**:
- Salary: Cira £30k pro rata, depending on skills and experience
- 25 days annual leave and Holiday purchase scheme, pro rata
