We are looking for an experienced individual to work within the Compliance, Risk and Health and Safety team.

The Compliance Monitoring Officer is a varied and interesting role which requires an experienced individual to undertake a variety of environmental and compliance audits, including cleaning, maintenance, and health and safety across the Trust to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations and to ensure our high standards are maintained in relation to local and national cleaning standards.

To be a member of the team responsible for undertaking a variety of environmental compliance audits and inspections, including but not limited to environment, waste, health and safety, risk assessments, disability discrimination access, and estates. To access, measure, monitor and improve the quality of services provided by Essentia in accordance with Local and National standards. To accurately maintain the relevant software to record all audit findings to enable factual reports to be presented to provide evidence of continual improvement. Initially based at Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital, you may be required to work at any location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis, according to operational requirements and the performance of your duties.

Essentia’s focus is on providing a high quality hospital environment and a high quality hospital experience for patients through setting imaginative new standards in the physical and built environment, by a programme of improvements to the range of support services and by fostering a strong overarching patient-focused approach.

The Technical Assurance Team is part of Essentia. The team deals specifically with the operational side of the Trust. The aim of the team is to assure everything Essentia does meets the statutory compliance for the Trust as a whole and any sites that may require our services in the future (e.g. community locations and Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals). The Associate Director of Technical Assurance leads on several areas of statutory compliance for Essentia which covers areas such as Cleaning, Food hygiene, Health and Safety, Engineering Compliance, Fire Safety, Back Log maintenance improvements as well as process improvements. We are a small team dedicated to ensuring what we do is the best for the Trust

This role will form part of the Risk and Assurance Team and will report in to the Compliance Manager.
- To undertake audits of clinical and non-clinical services, by use of IT management Information To collate the information in preparation for a report to be provided to individual wards and departments on performance.
- To be responsible for dealing with day to day service and compliance issues and bringing these to the attention of the Compliance Manager and stakeholders where
- Responsible for Communication with Ward and Department Managers in terms of the Healthcare Environment to ensure that all changes to the compliance and monitoring service are communicated To receive and provide information using persuasive skills to facilitate changes and improvements.
- To be able to use a range of administrative procedures and practices to report on audit
- To schedule all audits in line with pre-determined risks and targets and ensure they are conducted as detailed in department work instruction in compliance with local, national or international
- Undertaking and supporting health and safety audits and following up with detailed Audits will include trust’s acute and community sites and external client’s premises on a pre-determined timescale dependent upon risks.
- To be able to engage, communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to undertake joint audits or audit requests g. Ward Managers and Infection Control Nurses, Housekeeping Managers.
- Ensure clear verbal and written communication and/or guidance is provided for environmental compliance to staff on a regular
- To assist and support the Compliance Manager in delivering changes to ward, public and clinical environments working in line with policies g. IP&C and to underpin and support the objectives of Essentia, Group Operations, and the Assurance and Contracts department.

- To assist in developing new policies and procedures or adapt current procedures and to have an active input into feedback and suggestions for continuous service
