A Compliance Monitoring Officer is required by an established, ambitious FinTech to instil a risk aware culture, both within the 1st Line of Defence and with 3rd parties (ARs and IARs). The business is embarking on a period of sustained growth, and you willwork closely with the sales team to bolster the 1st Line of Defence whilst also enhancing 2nd Line controls and monitoring through the effective use of technology. This is a hybrid role enabling you to split your time between the office (2 days a week) andworking from home (3 days a week).

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the Head of Compliance in developing risk-based oversight plans and lead on the execution and delivery of those plans
- Owning and enhancing the firm’s 3rd party compliance due diligence processes, including KYC and sanctions checks where necessary
- Owning and enhancing ongoing 3rd party oversight, including communication of training and policy updates
- Advising on, and supporting the roll out of compliance training enhancements for 3rd parties, including topics such as financial promotions, Consumer Credit Act and credit broking requirements
- Advising the business on systems, process and control requirements to enable the business to maintain acceptable levels of oversight in line with rapid growth
- Maintaining accurate and up to date records of AR, IAR and other 3rd party compliance and risk matters
- Identifying suitable technology to maintain acceptable levels of oversight and control whilst keeping up with the cadence of new merchants onboarded
- Acting as an ambassador for the Compliance and Risk function throughout the business and 3rdparties, encouraging a risk aware, open and collaborative culture

You will have previous experience in undertaking monitoring and assurance work or 3rd party risk management within a Financial Services environment, with experience of Consumer Credit, Insurance or Mortgages being of particular interest. Any experience offinancial promotions oversight would be advantageous. You will also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and have the ability to communicate complex regulatory matters in an easy to digest form.
