Would you like to begin a career working with
children? We are currently recruiting a new early years staff to join the Little Treasures team
You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved. You must be able to laugh at jokes that you don't understand, or you don't find funny. The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in
front of a crowd is essential. You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.
Can you make stories come to life? Be a super hero one minute and a princess the next?
Not afraid to get your hands dirty (literally
- in paint, mud, slime, foam... you get the idea) along with being creative and have a passion for inspiring the next generation
to be kind, imaginative, clever and feel important
Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance.
The ability to remember the names of many child their pets and special soft toys are a key component of this job.
A high level of comfort with being asked personal questions by children is essential. You will regularly be asked questions regarding what you are having for lunch,
whether you are willing to share your lunch, whether or not you are married and if not, why you are not married, where you are going (as you walk to the toilet) and what you did in there (the toilet).
Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families.
There is simply no other job like this one.

Purpose of post
To work alongside other practitioners, leaders in a busy nursery environment.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Should be qualified to LEVEL 2, 3 and above in *Early Years. A Paediatric First Aid & Food Safety qualificationdesirable.
Essential
2. Must supply a current DBS or re-new at own expense.
3. Supply TWO references. Both must be present or previous workplace settings within last three years.

Duties and responsibilities
- To work as a keyworker alongside other practitioners.
- To work with children aged from 3 months to school agewhere needed.
- Observe, plan and access for all key children.
- Ensure you keep the highest standards of hygiene.
- To assist in providing a safe, supportive, and caring environment for young children in the care of Little Treasures Nursery; to ensure that all aspects of each individual child’s development are given full consideration.
- To ensure that clean and hygienic standards are always maintained. This includes daily cleaning rotas, nappy changing and other nursery/housekeeping duties.
- To maintain and follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.
- To develop a thorough knowledge of all of the company’s operational policies and procedures; ensuring that they are followed and respected at all times.
- To follow all routines, duties, timetables, rotas, record keeping activities and any other reasonable duty as requested by your supervisor or Nursery Manager.
- To ensure that communication with children, parents and the staff team is polite and courteous at all times.
- To share relevant information and ensure that information passed between parents and staff is communicated to your supervisor/Nursery Manager as appropriate.
- To maintain confidentiality about all issues related to children and their families, your own and other staff members issues and any other management or operational issues.
- Involvement and enrolment in company training courses to be undertaken and completed which may, at various times, be outside normal working hours.
- To provide staff cover within the nursery group periodically, as requested by the Management team.
- To encourage an atmosphere of co-operation and respect.
- To ensure that a polite, courteous and helpful attitude is demonstrated at all times to the children, their parents and other staff members.
- To maintain and respect confidentiality at all times.
- To ensure that punctuality is maintained throughout the day.
As part of our nursery team, you should be flexible, adaptable, approachable to meet the everyday needs of a vibrant, busy, and exciting nursery setting.
