**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Supervising children play time.
- Engaging children in learning and play activities.
- Safeguarding is a vital key point in this role.
- Making the nursery environment as fun and upbeat as possible to give children a fantastic experience
- Updating records
- Attending staff meetings
- To keep a record of achievement file on children for parents and carers
- be prepared to help when needed
- record accidents in the accident book

**Required Skills**:

- Must have some previous experience working with children and a level 2 qualification in early years or teaching assistant.
- High energy levels
- Curiosity approach
- Reggio Emilio (ethos around teaching style used in the nursery)

**Required Qualifications**:
Maths, English and ICT grade 4-9 or A-C

**Training**:

- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Maths & English level 2 if not already achieved.
- Appts with apprentice, employer & provider, observations of workplace as well as gathering evidence.
- Undertake self-assessment in last month of apprenticeship. The self-assessment must be submitted to the end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project, employer reference & interview about the portfolio and project.
