An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Community Navigators to become part of team BSMHFT whilst delivering a randomised controlled trial of the Community Navigator programme which aims to reduce loneliness and depression for adults with treatment resistant depression in secondary mental health services. The post holder(s) will work with Community Mental Health Teams in either Longbridge, Warstock Lane or Zinnia.

Interested applicants should have experience of working with and supporting people with serious and or enduring mental health, addiction issues or other vulnerable groups, be able to work collaboratively within a team and have the ability to form and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with service users.

The post will be hybrid working across Trust base and home settings. The post holder(s) will work with local clinical teams, the Principal Investigator and the national study team.
- To support mental health service users with developing more social contact and activity in their local community, and helping to reduce loneliness
- To provide up to 10 sessions of support over 6 months to individual service users with enduring depression or anxiety.
- To help service users to review people they know and places and activities they currently enjoy and support them in making and carrying out plans to increase their activity and social contact.
- To work independently, visiting service users at home or meeting them in the community.
- To link appropriately with involved clinical teams, writing up written records of contacts with service users and feeding in to care planning and management as required.
- The post is set up in the context of a nationally-funded research study and will involve providing information and feedback about your work to the research team.
- To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
