**We are looking for those with just solid management experience but also those with both management and a background in the below.**

We are looking for TL’s to lead a variety of teams within CTS, for all TL roles, strong leadership experience is required.
In addition we also have a number of TL roles, not only with leadership experience but additionally with a strong working knowledge/experience of one or more of the following areas
- energetics (including pyrotechnics), apprenticeships, chemistry and science, engineering, Explosive Ordnance Disposal or high hazard areas.

Dstl's Counter-Terrorism and Security (CTS) Division primarily delivers science and technology (S&T) to support the UK government in the fight against crime and terrorism. The Division’s work includes supporting the military, security services and emergency services on the front line, delivering bespoke engineering solutions to urgent problems, and investing in new technology and capabilities for future and emerging threats.
CTS Division has a wide range of customers including the Ministry of Defence, the Home Office and other government departments. CTS is staffed by expert practitioners and houses specialist laboratories, workshops and facilities, which together enable Dstl to respond rapidly to operational demands and ensure that the UK retains operational advantage. The Division maintains the Sovereign UK energetics capability and provides a source of threat information to the rest of Dstl.

Within CTS Division, there is a high density of health and safety hazards, including explosives, chemicals, lasers, hostile locations, industrial and Asbestos, making safe working one of the Division’s top priorities.
As Dstl’s first line of management, your primary purpose as a Team Leader (TL) is to provide leadership to the people in your team. This has a balance of leading / managing people and technical leadership, ensuring the development and delivery of capability to meet current and future demand.
A Team Leader may also fulfil other roles as part of their technical contribution but not to the detriment of their line management responsibilities.

**In this role you will**:
**Develop & sustain capability (people relationships, infrastructure, knowledge, licences to practice) to provide technical/scientific contribution to current and future projects across Dstl through effective use of the Team's resources/expertise**:
Maintain awareness of current and future demand requirements
