**Job summary**:
We are looking for people managers for a number of our Teams;
**Graduate Team Leader**:
As the Graduate Team Leader your primary purpose will be providing leadership to the graduate cohorts embarking on the CBR Graduate Programme, with the aim of developing CBR division’s next generation of analysts and scientists. Your responsibilities will be centred round providing support to our existing capabilities, whilst developing multi-skilled analysts and scientists to build our future capabilities and ability to adapt to ever changing demands.

**Health and Safety Team Leader**:
As Health and Safety Team Leader your primary purpose will be providing leadership to the Health and Safety team within the Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) Division. Your responsibilities will be centred round delivery of the Health and Safety capability ensuring the development of the team and capability. Experience in managing a Health & Safety capability and/or having or working towards an IOSH Managing safely course (or equivalent) would be desirable.

**Chemical Sensing Team Leader**:
As the Chemical Sensing Team Leader your primary purpose will be providing leadership to the Chemical Sensing Team within the Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) Division. Your responsibilities will be centred round delivery of the Chemical Sensing capability ensuring the development of the team and capability. Experience in building a capability and a background in either defence or chemistry would be desirable.

**As a Team Leader in Dstl you will**:
**In this role you will**:
Develop & sustain capability (people relationships, infrastructure, knowledge, licences to practice) to provide technical/scientific contribution to current and future projects across Dstl through effective use of the Team's resources/expertise:

- Maintain awareness of current and future demand requirements
- Understand and use the different resource options to ensure an appropriate mix of team members
- Understand and effectively develop capability to align with Division Capability plans
- Build resilience through succession planning, including developing future leaders

Direct Line management of a team of _ca._15 Team Members:

- Enable effective performance management and development of team members
- Allocate employees to tasks or projects based on requirements
- Coach and support Team Members career and personal development.
- Ensure that people have the necessary skills and competencies for the tasks assigned
- Ensure employees have knowledge of and conform to all safety and security and resilience requirements.

Build employees engagement and create an environment which nurtures excellence through:

- setting the direction for team, including how the team fits with strategic aims;
