**Summary**: **About the position**:This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Bowling Center, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. - Scheduled shifts may include days, evening, weekends and holidays. - This position requires a pre-employment physical. **STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications will be reviewed, and referrals made every 7 days throughout the open period.**This position may close sooner than the date advertised if the vacancy is filled.** **This job is open to**: - **The public**: - U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. **Clarification from the agency**: Please see the "Who May Apply" section under the Qualifications section. **Duties**: - Responsible for manning the customer service desk within the bowling center. - Assigns lanes to be used, operates control console, rents shoes and sells items in the pro shop. - Conducts inventories of pro shop items may be required to inventory snack bar resale items, facility equipment and other supply items. - Demonstrates and instructs participants on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction on bowling techniques. - Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair. - May supervise, lead, oversee and/or coordinate the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties. - Assists in advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events and open play activities. - May be required to schedule and administer these activities in the capacity of league secretary or tournament director. Insures activities are properly scheduled, facilities arc set up and rules and regulations are observed. - Opens and closes the bowling facility as required. - Performs other related duties as assigned. **Requirements**: **Conditions of employment**: - This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. - This position may require the incumbent to work an uncommon work schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays. - This position is only open to applicants with PCS orders to a local USAF base or current UK work visa. - This position requires the incumbent to complete a pre-employment physical with favorable results. **Qualifications**: **The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement**: - Citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days. - Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. - Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. - Business Based Action - Family Member Preference - Military Spouse Preference - Outside Applicant Veteran - Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran - Transition Hiring Preference **Qualifying Experience**: - Must have experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of bowling center operations including the rules related to bowling and organization of leagues and tournaments. - Must have a working knowledge of bowling machinery and equipment and bowling lane care. - Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods. - Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. - Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Prior experience in basic supply techniques is desirable. - Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. - Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of suitability and fitness for the position. **Education**: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
