**Summary**: **About the position**:This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Galaxy Club, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The purpose of this position is to mix and serve pre-mixed alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a limited-service bar. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. - Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists higher-level bartender as required. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. - Performs other related duties as assigned. **Requirements**: **Conditions of employment**: - This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. - Must meet the minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages (18 years old). - This position is open to applicant on PCS orders to the UK (military or civilian), or who have a current UK Work visa. - This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. - This position requires the incumbent to be available for shift work. - Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. **Qualifications**: - Citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days. - Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. - Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. - Business Based Action - Family Member Preference - Military Spouse Preference - Outside Applicant Veteran - Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran - Transition Hiring Preference **Qualifying Experience**: - Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages. - Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. - Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. - Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. **Education**: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
