The HR Officer is vital to the delivery of excellent Employee Relations Services within the public sector and government organisation based around Spalding and the post holder will work with colleagues across the Human resources and personnel team withinthe Company. This client facing role is essential in ensuring a fair and consistent approach to employment relations and promoting a positive employee relations culture within the Company

The Public sector and government organisations Human Resources and Personnel function has responsibility for providing centralised support functions and is operationally accountable for the delivery of high-quality professional HR and Payroll services totheir clients. The HR and Payroll team takes responsibility for adding value to clients and company management and the service covers People Management, Learning & Development, Organisational Development and Pay & Reward

**Description**

Summary of Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities for this HR Officer role
- Act as the internal escalation and expert advisor on all aspects of ER to enable effective, values-based work relationships with key stakeholders
- To work in partnership client managers on their people issues, providing effective solutions and recommendations, leading to ownership by managers and effective resolution.
- To support people managers and clients' managers in their management of ER cases such as long-term sickness absence, performance management, disciplinary and grievance cases; including organising and participating in formal investigation meetings and hearings,preparation of scripts and drafting letters, as required.
- To assist in the development of HR policies and monitoring of the policies to ensure they remain fit for purpose and in line with the Business strategy and People Plan.
- Develop skills, knowledge, and confidence to enable them to lead in ER areas of people management activities, including disciplinary, absence and performance management.
- To provide coaching and development support to other team members to ensure information is shared and understood by the Human resources and personnel team.
- To provide advice and guidance on equality and diversity issues effecting employees
- Work with and build constructive relationships with relevant Trade Unions representatives and employee consultation groups
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Learning and Development team to design and deliver workshops to managers on HR topics such as Absence Management, Disciplinary Investigations and Managing difficult conversations at Work.
- To be responsible for specific HR change projects, as defined by the ER and HR Manager in accordance with the Corporate Strategy, the People Plan's objectives, and priorities.

**Profile**

HR Officer role experience and characteristics required;
- Experience of working within a complex working environment, with multiple sites e.g., Public sector and Government / Education / National Health Service
- Proven experience working within a HR / ER Advisory role: requiring the delivery of complete range of ER activities, from early intervention ER advice to people managers up to supporting the management of complex, high risk ER cases, including experienceof ACAS early conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims
- Experience of coaching people managers to develop their confidence to deal with ER cases
- Broad, thorough, and up to date knowledge of UK Employment Law
- Ability to network and build relations with multiple stakeholders
