The following outlines both the role and what is expected from the person in the above position. This role description also supersedes any previous job or role descriptions that have been issued.

**Job Purpose**

To provide support to the Managers, Employees and HR Advisors in regard to employee relations and administration, ensuring adherence to Company policy, procedures and current legislation. This position provides an opportunity for enhancing and developing HR skills and experience, working towards developing the competencies to meet the requirements of a HR Advisor.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- As an assistant HR Advisor, you will provide effective administration and advisory support to managers and employees
- Assist the HR Advisor with absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance management situations and associated case work
- The first contact point in regard to employee queries/issues.
- Maintain accurate and up to date employee records to ensure audit trail for completeness.
- Assist with reviewing and updating the template letters and guides.
- Support the update of the TMS and HR systems.
- Support the Payroll and HR Administrator with writing and issuing employment contracts for new starters and relevant supporting documentation.
- Support the Payroll and HR Administrator to produce and issue internal employee transfer/change of job details documentation.
- Assist the Head of HR with project work and future HR initiatives.
- Support the Payroll and HR Administrator processing weekly and monthly payroll.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures by identifying recurring issues to be progressed and providing feedback.

- Contribute to the development of the Company’s core values.
- Perform duties to a high standard and to ensure that quality assurance and improvement processes are implemented successfully across the Company, particularly those relating to own role.
- The postholder will be required to encompass the use of IT as appropriate to their level of responsibility.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, ethical standards and Health and Safety in the Workplace.
- Commit to, and uphold, the Company Environmental Policies.
- Undertake Company training initiatives as appropriate.
- Carry out other such duties as such may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post.
- Adhere to all health and safety, hygiene and fire regulations and procedures within the Company.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested by your Manager to ensure the overall smooth running of the business.
- Ensure the relevant food legality, safety, quality and authenticity policies, procedures and checks are conducted according to the company requirements.

This job description reflects the principal accountabilities of the post and identifies the level of responsibility at which the postholder will be required to work. In the interests of effective working, the major tasks may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changing needs and circumstances. Such reviews and any consequential changes will be carried out after consultation with the postholder.

**Person Specification**

Experience of managing absence, day to day employee relations issues and issuing contracts of employment.

Experienced user of Microsoft Office.

Confident working on their own and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills with ability to relate to people at all levels.

Tactful and approachable.

HR experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Must have previous payroll experience (specific systems training would be given)

Ability to work to tight deadlines and handle confidential information.

**Key Measurables**

Ensuring employee relations cases are dealt with in a timely manner adhering to both legal and business demands.

Maintaining accurate and detailed records with coherent audit trails.

Supporting fully with payroll to be able to cover in Payroll and HR Administrator’s absence.

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year
