**Are you an experienced academic with an interest in championing ethical research and practice? Do you have an interest in research methods and experience reviewing research papers, project proposals or grant submissions? Do you have the ability to help others consider complex problems and navigate ethical challenges?**

As the School Ethics Lead you will provide leadership in the development, promotion and assurance of ethical research conduct within your School. You will contribute to the joint Faculty Research Ethics Committee (FREC) and support the delivery of the University’s Research Ethics Policy. You will be proactive in helping the University realise its ambition to promote the highest levels of research integrity, providing advice to colleagues and PGRs, inputting to training and informing policy.

As a School Ethics Lead you will work with colleagues across the Faculties of Business, Environment and Social Sciences. The role provides an opportunity to learn more about the diverse research being conducted across the three Faculties and to gain insights into different research methods and approaches. The FREC meets regularly (five times per year) and provides opportunities for School Ethics Leads to develop advanced knowledge and expertise in ethical and governance issues. In addition, there are four training sessions per year, as well as other training opportunities.

Please note:

- This post reports to the Chair of Business, Environment and Social Sciences (AREA) Faculty Research Ethics Committee;
- Applicants must hold an academic post in the Faculty of Environment;
- The tenure for the post will be for an initial period of 1 year and may be renewed annually by agreement;
- This role has a workload allowance of 85 hours.
