We have a great opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Co-ordinator to join our team based anywhere in England. The salary on offer is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum. This role is offered on a Permanent, full time basis.

Main purpose / scope of the role

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator will form part of the Environment Focus area within the wider Energy & Environment team and be a key role in helping NHS Property Services to deliver environmental compliance and improvement across the estate.

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator will report into the Environmental Compliance Manager. The role is a centralised role aimed at providing support to the regions as part of a wider Greener NHS Programme. This will involve collaboration with the wider NHSPS group e.g. the Technical Services team, Regional Facilities Management team, Planning team, Construction and other key teams. The aim is to drive and embed compliance in applicable environmental obligations, working towards a net-zero carbon estate that is fully compliant and adapted for future climate change impacts.

Key Responsibilities
- Overall oversight of regional compliance with applicable environmental regulations, processes, and internal policies.
- Assist with the development and implementation of NHSPS Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).
- Coordinating the performance of compliance assessments across the estate.
- Assist Environmental Compliance Manager in maintaining NHSPS environmental legal register.
- Developing, reviewing, and updating the policies, procedures, and other environmental compliance documents.
- Coordinating and assisting in undertaking compliance assessments.
- Tracking and following up of the implementation of recommended actions as per the Compliance Assessments.
- Reporting the key findings from Compliance Assessments to the relevant governance teams.
- Maintaining monthly and quarterly compliance performance reporting requirements.
- Performing administrative tasks for the team such as the maintenance of training log, procedure logs and Social Value requirements tracking.
- Assisting the Environmental Compliance Manager with the implementation of energy and environment Social Value requirements where required.
- Assisting in Biodiversity initiatives where required.
- Supporting awareness campaigns on environmental compliance to upskill NHSPS colleagues.
- Establishing and maintaining process for the management of permits, licenses and consents with relevant teams such as Construction Team; Planning Team; Technical Services Team; Procurement Team; FM community and any other teams.
- Any other projects and tasks relating to compliance matters delegated by the Environmental Compliance Manager.
