We ae looking for a Learning Support Team Leader to ensure that support for students is organised appropriately in line with the funding available for the support. You will be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of Learning Support Assistants including their timetabling as well as liaising with local authorities in relation to funding.

You will have experience and knowledge of working with and supporting Students with Special Educational Needs. You must have good interpersonal communication and organisational skills combined with a professional attitude to work.

**POST: LEARNING SUPPORT TEAM LEADER**

**REPORTING TO: LEARNING SUPPORT MANAGER**

JOB SUMMARY: To ensure that support for students is organised appropriately in line with the funding available for the support. You will be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of Learning Support Assistants including their timetabling as well as liaising with local authorities in relation to funding. Main Activities

1. To manage and effectively deploy the team of Learning Support Assistants, including core and agency staffing, developing and encouraging their appropriate contribution to the college.

2. To effectively manage Learning Support timetables to ensure the appropriate support for learners is provided and cover is in place when member of Learning Support Assistants are absent.

3. To work with the Learning Support Manager to agree the level and nature of support to be offered to individual students, liaising with internal and external customers/stakeholders as required.

4. To organise appropriate support for individuals, liaising with external agencies and parents / carers.

5. To undertake and contribute to student reviews as appropriate and to contribute to compliance and monitoring of reviews for students.

6. To maintain and monitor support records and ensure that all records meet audit requirements to evidence the funding claim, providing written or verbal reports as required.

7. To liaise with local authorities in relation to EHCP funding.

8. To undertake the duties of a Learning Support Assistant, when required, to ensure no loss of service to students.

9. To participate in relevant professional development

10. To take personal responsibility for supporting, promoting and following all College policies in relation to health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity and data protection within the scope of the post

11. To performing administrative and organisational tasks relating to the work of the College, including participation in team meetings.

The postholder can be required to carry out any other duties consistent with the grade of post, at any site on which the College may operate.
