The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities To provide an effective administrative support to the Domestic Abuse Case Workers in Horsham. This will include support with research for MARAC meetings and assisting with progressing any actions from MARAC. Responsible for handling enquiries from internal and external parties, whether they are phone calls or requests in writing. This will include responding to requests for information. To research and obtain and identify relevant disclosable information from police systems. This includes the collation, production, analysis and dissemination of information in relation to MARAC’s when directed by DSs. To proactively work to support the department in the achievement of objectives, ensuring the completion of actions and strategies set for improvements in Child Protection, Adult Protection, Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). To set up and attend meetings, record actions and distribute papers as required. To ensure that offences identified within the business of the MARAC are recorded to be Crime Data Integrity compliant. To keep all records and information secure and confidential at all times. To regularly monitor and quality assure all reports upon submission, ensuring these are completed in line with Force policy and take necessary corrective action. To monitor the progress of relevant court cases - including Domestic Violence Protection Orders and update records To monitor the Niche inboxes and deal with workflows allocated to them; identifying Safeguarding Alerts and SCARFS (VAAR, MOGP and DASH - to be replaced by signs) when reviewing the forms, identifying key information ensuring that information that identifies Safeguarding risks is passed to police colleagues and partner agencies in a timely manner. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.

Skills & Experience

Skills & Experience Previous experience of working in an administrative role is essential together with good organisational Skills. Able to exercise discretion in handling matters of a personal, sensitive, and of confidential nature and the safe handling of sensitive operational information. Knowledge of the MARAC process if desirable. Effective time management and prioritisation skills and the ability to meet timescales without close supervision. Good interpersonal skills to be able deal courteously with enquiries. Research and analytical skills for Police systems and ability to recognise if research needs to be expanded when links are found to other families/victims. Decision making skills to support this so the officer has all the information to make safeguarding decisions. Good IT skills to support this research, transpose information from one system to another and produce research documents on templates for meetings.
