Motor Vehicle Tutor

**You do not need to be a qualified teacher or tutor, all of the required training will be given to allow you to share your wide experience with our learners to ensure their success. You will, however, have the drive to work with young people supporting them to develop valuable skills for their future.**
**Main responsibilities**:
- Work as part of a team to achieve the company KPIs and Individual Performance Plan.
- Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and ensure lesson plans are prepared prior to learners attending and are linked to overarching Schemes of Work.(full training given)
- Create conditions in the training centre(s) that will help to develop the abilities, skills and confidence of each learner.
- Empathise with, engage and motivate learners across all programmes.
- Ensure that all aspects of HASAWA are understood, maintained and extended to learners, staff and visitors
- Deliver relevant Motor vehicle qualifications from level 1 to level 3 in either classroom-based or work place environment (full training will be given)
- Undertaking pastoral duties and supporting learners on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties
- Support the implementation and development of the Functional Skills (FS) Strategy.
- Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
- Regularly assess learners work to awarding body and Ofsted CIF criteria.
- Planning, preparation and delivery of vocational sessions alongside all other qualifications
- Embed and deliver FS following the Study Programme ethos, ensuring learners develop an awareness of employability skills, vocational opportunities and PSD issues whilst acquiring key Functional Skills.
- Develop and assess qualifications at the appropriate levels to support the learners’ ability to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work.
- Develop delivery in order to maximise progression opportunities for learners.
- Managing resources and ensuring the security of equipment and materials.
- There is a mandatory requirement for all staff to attend 2 ‘away days’ with Nova per year.
**Essential Requirements**
- Relevant Vocational and industry experience as appropriate for the area of delivery.
- Level 3 vocational qualification (or evidence of occupational competence).
- GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in literacy, numeracy, ICT skills.
- Communicate to a range of audiences (verbal, written, using ICT or other media as appropriate).
- To be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
**Desirable Skills/Experience**
- Experience in delivering training or supporting young people (14-19), who have LDDs including attitude and/or behaviour problems.
Assessor qualification TA element of TAQA (or D33 or A1)
Teaching, Learning and assessment experience in the Motor vehicle repair and Maintenance Qualifications.
- Teaching Qualification/TAQA Award in Assessing
- Current First Aid applicable
- Full, clean UK Driving License
- Organisational experience in a previous job role.

**Salary**:Up to £27,000 pa (pro rota) (depending on experience & qualifications)
