Greendale Farm Shop is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team. As a Butcher at Greendale Farm Shop, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality meat products to our valued customers. Our farm shop is known for its commitment to quality and sustainability, as well as being able to provide meat from our very own farm. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for delivering top-notch products and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
Meat Preparation: Safely and skillfully prepare a variety of meat cuts from different animal sources, including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry.
Use appropriate tools, such as knives, saws, and cleavers, to process meat and ensure consistent quality.

Customer Service: Assist customers with their meat selection, providing recommendations and information about different cuts, cooking methods, and product availability.
Address customer inquiries, offer cooking tips, and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude.

Meat Display and Merchandising: Arrange meat products in an attractive and appealing manner to entice customers.
Ensure proper labeling and pricing of meat products and maintain an organized and clean meat counter.

Inventory Management: Monitor meat inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
Keep track of product expiration dates and assist in minimizing waste through proper inventory control.

Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation of meat products and equipment.
Implement best practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the farm shop team, including fellow butchers, cooks, and management, to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Butcher, ideally in a retail or farm shop setting.
- Knowledge of different meat cuts, cooking methods, and safe handling practices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
