**Job Overview**
As a Self Employed Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and dedicated support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Your responsibilities will include helping clients maintain their independence while ensuring their comfort and safety in both home care and care home settings. This position requires excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, flexibility is a must for this role and the ability to follow care plans effectively. You will provide care to a couple who also have 2 children aged 14 and 18 care support is a whole family package.

As part of the role you will be required to drive and must hold a full clean driving licence. A pre test drive of the vehicle will be part of the interview process. You must be confident in driving a large vehicle short and long distance as part of this role.

**Duties**
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing to 1 female adult and 1 male adult both wheelchair users with cerebral Palsey on a daily basis
- Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring clients are safe and comfortable using transfer aids and hoist
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and preferences each day. Weekly meal preparation and shopping will be required
- All housework duties will be required daily
- Administer medication as per care plans and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
- Attend away work trips and holidays at short notice day and overnight rates will be negotiated separately
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship the client works and you will be expected to assist them in this setting using their transport
- Drive clients to appointments or social events as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Drivers essential with confidence to drive a large van daily
- Females preferred but males will be considered
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with the team effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including day shifts 12 - 6pm Monday - Sunday. Overnight sleeping nights 9pm start - 10am
- Must be available to work every other weekend alternative day shift and night shifts
- Bank holiday work is expected
