Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Due to a significant investment LCHS (Lincolnshire Community Health Services) are extremely excited to be advertising band 6 posts for the acute services in Lincoln county hospital and Pilgrim hospital. This new investment will result in a 7 day service for general wards and critical care units on both sites. We are looking for motivated band 6 Specialist Speech and Language therapists to join our forward-thinking and supportive team. There are sessions available on both sites for inpatient general wards, which include wards specialising in ENT, respiratory, medical, care of the elderly, frailty and the critical care units. Posts may be solely on critical care or acute wards or may be split across both settings. Exact breakdown of sessions and bases will be decided following interview.
The successful applicant will be a team player who is highly motivated, with clinical expertise in communication and dysphagia and experience of acute settings.
The post will require flexible working over a 7 day working rota. Enhanced pay is received for weekend working. We will consider developing posts.
- To provide assessment, diagnosis and specialist evidence based intervention to adult inpatients referred for Speech and Language Therapy, including providing self-care and information to patients, carers, and other professionals.
- To provide clinical support to and supervise a small number of Band 5 SLTs and/or SLTAs.

We have a well-established local AAC Service and The East Midlands AAC Regional hub is based in Lincoln, with opportunities for training and joint working with AAC professionals from the hub.
